Where does AT&T fill their orders from, do they just fill them through Apple?

I ask because I know a girl who's husband works at AT&T (yeah, I know store reps are reh-tards for the most part) but this is what she just wrote me:

"Ryan said on Tuesday you can come into the store and pre-order your phone. It's sent right to your house from the apple store. And this way he can get the sale. Let me know! All he said was u need to put a credit card on file... They don't charge it until they ship it out. He works all day that day too!"

Bad info is bad?

I don't know why it would be shipped from the Apple store, maybe she meant directly from Apple?

I haven't replied back mainly because I'm still pretty set on just having it shipped from Apple.com

Ok so then AT&T actually handles no inventory for pre-orders? They just forward the orders directly to Apple to honor and ship?

i think she means, since Apple obviously produces the phone, that they would just ship it directly to you, instead of shipping it to Att just for them to send it to you. So since its pre-arranged, they skip the step of shipping it to Att. Just my thought.

I went to the AT&T store the other day and the store rep told they were not going to be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4
