Pre-order iPhone 6 for T-Mobile

I'm currently with AT&T and I'm thinking of switching over to T-Mobile. If I choose to pre-order tonight the T-Mobile iPhone 6, do I need to have an account first / number with T-Mobile? Or I can set that up after?
