Pre order iPhone X - carrier / apple

From everyone’s experience here, should I pre-order the iPhone directly from Apple or through Verizon. Does it matter? Last year I ordered through the Apple site but not sure if there’s a delay going through Verizon.

I plan on ordering through Verizon. But being pre-ordering is six weeks away, I might change my mind and order through Apple. But I haven't decided yet, depending on Verizon's process.

I'm with T-mobile now (was with AT&T), trying to leave options open in case i want to switch carriers. Am i correct to still assume the VZ version (if purchased through Apple) is still unlocked and includes all the bands except Sprint? Thanks

All verizon models is still unlocked.
