Pre-order question about phone number.

I'm gonna be a new ATT customer for the iPhone 4, so I will want to pre-order it, however my question is, will I get the new number as soon as I pre-order it online? I'd much rather "pick" a new number in an ATT store. How will it work? Thank in advance! :cool: P.S. I'm not porting my current number.

They issue the number at activation, if the phone number is that important to you make sure your pick-up is at an AT&T location.
 
What if I have it delivered to my home, then take it to ATT to activate it? Thanks again! :D
