So, weird story. I ordered an iPhone 5 32GB through Apple as soon as the became available on the 14th. Received my order confirmation from apple (below)
But then the next day, I received an order confirmation from AT&T for an iPhone 5 16GB and a 'Various SIM'.
I have never dealt with AT&T, just seen them mentioned lots on these forums and I know they are the main iPhone carrier in the US. However I'm from the UK, why would I have received this.
I rang up both Apple and AT&T and neither know about the AT&T order, however AT&T said they 'might' in 21 days and both pointed me to the other. Which isn't that useful. I'd write it off as fraudulent/phishing if it didn't have the actual link to AT&Ts site, appears to be from the proper AT&T email, doesn't ask for any bank/card/personal details and the phone number was correct. Has anyone experienced anything similar. I'm slightly concerned by the fact it says
"As a reminder, we authorized the funds to cover your purchase once your order was placed. However, your credit card will not be charged until the order is shipped."
