How easy to get the old phone data to new iphone(sprint) and get it working, pre order from apple ?

what old phone data? you will activate you iPhone through iTunes. if you previously had an iPhone. You can transfer all your information through iTunes.

Maybe I have to clarify that the current phone is samsung and the activation is the question I am asking.

Pretty easy, I did mine all at home when the Iphone 5 came out. (Sprint)

I am still on Sprint and will be doing the same thing as you. Login to the account, put the phones serial number, a few more steps. The entire process takes 5-10 minutes.
