Does anyone know how it works if once you’ve been preapproved on the iPhone upgrade program how to switch the model if you change your mind? I’m set for the 12 but I think I want the pro instead. Not sure if anyone has done that this or last year.

You just preorder the model you want in the morning instead of selecting the model you already picked.
