Hey guys, I'm running OSX Lion on a Mac Mini Mid 2011. I just wanted to know what types of precautions I need to take before I install OSX Mavericks. Would it be possible for OSX Mavericks to delete my files? I've never upgraded a new OS on a Mac before so I don't know what I should be expecting.

How long would it take for Mavericks to install itself?

I've got 9GB of free space on my hard drive. Is this enough?

I just don't want to lose any data.

By the way, I just copied over a bunch of files from my Mac Mini onto my Time Machine external backup drive. Is it ok for me to do this?

Thank you for any help!
