So I ordered an Ultra to try out, I thought I would see what the fuss was about. It is going back but I did like the precision start. I am wondering why Apple don't port this to the other watches as they don't generally 'do a Garmin' and keep software locked up for the pricier devices.

I know there are other AW apps that give you a GPS lock indicator but at the end of the day this is a feature that has been natively available on EVERY other GPS tracker device since they came out. Just because AW users don't have an Ultra doesn't mean they are less serious about running.

I think it is pretty lame tbh.

I agree, it's a head scratcher as to why apple don't allow us to get a gps lock before starting a run, unless you have the ultra of course. As you alluded to though, other apps allow this! I just use workoutdoors, it's worth the payment for all it does.
