the other day I recently purchased predator 4K version. Watched half of it that day I bought it and Now I go to open up the iTunes app on my Apple TV only to see that it is now the hd version. Not 4K. I double checked all my settings and checked my iPad and they are all showing the hd version. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Check the info in your TV app. It will only show HD in iTunes on your iPad because it doesn't support 4K.

i wouldn't worry yet, this happened to me with Silence of the Lambs, was just 4k for a while, then it went down for a week or so, and came back 4k with Dolby Vision. I'd say they are replacing it with the 4k HDR versions.

I checked my Uk copy last night and it has indeed been upgraded to 4K and HDR.

When I'm disappointing by the lack of a 4K version of a film on iTunes, I simply buy it on Bluray instead and get the benefit of superior sound quality.

There's no way I'm renting a HD film for £6-7 or buying one for £12.99 through iTunes.

Depends which iPad as iPad Pro's all show HDR content in the Movie app and iTunes :D

There's another thread in here about all this. Many people have seen films flicks about, one minute HDR, next minute SDR. As Steve23094 has said, it will show the resolution as per the device you are looking at the movie on. What I have noticed is if you go to the TV app and then the 4K section they sometimes appear back as 4K

It is 100% to do with the studios and pretty much out of Apple's control.
