Predictive text always on?

Hey guys. If anyone has ever noticed, if you are typing and are in the middle of a word, and if you press the 'esc' key, a little drop down menu comes down and you can choose a predicted word.

Is there a way to have this always on? I don't want to have the 'esc' key every time. I can see how some people would think this is annoying, but I think I would like it. =)

I sure wouldn't! I don't think this is possible, no.

What app(s) is this? I've never noticed, and I'm at work now, so I can't check.

I hadn't seen it either, but it works in TextEdit and Pages.
