Preference oddity

I just noticed that there is a Preference folder in my Preference Panes. It wasn't there before and at has a lot of items that are already in my Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences. I don't remember moving the folder so I don't know if I have mistakingly dropped it there. Is there a problem having an extra folder or can I trash one? Thanks in advance.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question...

Is the Folder showing up in your System Prefs app or in the Preference Panes folder?

It doesn't show up inthe System Prefs, but if I click Fruit Menu it is listed there, full of duplicate 'plist files. I'm just going to toss it and see what happens.

I don't think I have ever seen so many prefpanes installed before!

My assumption is that you or another person accidentally moved it. It is unlikely that any app would move it there for any reason.

Well go remove all the stuff you don't want to be in your prefs menu.
