Hi guys
This is what happened lately:
In the process of shutting down my MacBook, FileVault asked permission to free up disk space as usual. However, it would not complete and after waiting a few hours, I had to press down the power button in order to reboot (which is called a hard reset, iirc). When my MacBook had finally rebooted, I found that all my preferences (Sidebar, Dashboard, E-Mail, FireFox) had been reset.
After searching on google for a while, I found out that my issue might have to do with my home folder being renamed. However, I cannot tell whether this is the case or not, since I never payed attention to it's name. Further more, I cannot recall having changed anything on purpose lately. As of now, there are two folders in the /user directory, one having the FileVault icon, containing numerous folders and one only containing a "library" folder.
Is there anybody who can tell me what I ran into and how I could possibly solve this problem?
Thank you in advance!
