Is there anything that needs to be done initially with the iPhone 4 to ensure proper battery calibration and health?

Charge it to 100%, let it drain until it shuts itself off, recharge to 100% and keep connected to charger for an hour or so afterward. Battery is now calibrated.

Awesome. Thanks a lot!
Phone is at 12% now.. I'll just let it die before I plug it in.

Impressively, that is with:
8 hours and 43 minutes of usage
and
23 hours 33 minutes of standby

Battery lasts quite a bit longer than the 3GS..
