preorder help! iphone 7

Currently I have no plan with any of the carriers, so can i still use the phone even if I choose one of the carriers when preordering from the Apple site(one-time payment)? If so which carrier should i choose? I think all of them are unlocked but that's different from SIM-free, correct? Please help me hehe this is my first time preordering from the apple site.

You can preorder the T-Mobile version without having a plan or signing up for one. You have to have a service plan to preorder AT&T, Verizon or Sprint versions.

Yes, T-Moblie is the only one you can buy online without a plan.

If you read about the frequencies that are working on each model a Sprint/Verizon phone is much better than the ATT/TMobile for resale (IMO) also the verizon phone comes unlocked so that is a huge advantage.
