is anyone else running into this issue?

I’m trying to preorder an iPhone 17 with Apple Card Monthly payments and using T-Mobile but I’m not currently a T-Mobile customer. But when I select T-Mobile it asks me to confirm my account and I can’t get past it. Any ideas?

This gets asked every year. It has something to do with the carriers having a "connectivity discount" for the base iPhone model. If you select a carrier, you need to prove you're an existing customer in order to get the discount.

In your case (since you're not a T-Mobile customer), you'd need to select the "Any Carrier" option and pay full price up front.

I am with Visible (MVNO) and had to choose T Mobile to prep my bag for Friday.

No account verification needed after choosing TMO.

Apple Card payments for me !

Correct. A carrier selection is required in order to do Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI). The regular models throw a wrench into this because they have a connectivity discount that requires you to confirm that you have a postpaid account with the selected carrier. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't let you choose a carrier without the discount. Well, actually they do...by selecting "Any Carrier", but then it doesn't qualify for ACMI. See chart above.

Supposedly, someone was able to get a full price purchase changed to monthly installments afterwards in the past. I suppose you could try that. If it doesn't work, then return it.

The Air and 17 Pro don't have the "connectivity discount", so they aren't affected. This situation only applies to the regular model, which requires you to have a postpaid account with the selected carrier.

Thanks. This is where I was confused. I am using US Mobile so looks like I’ll have to pay full price.
