I was able to place a preorder for an air but not a 17.I am not aware of a way around that block. I believe Apple requires confirmation of an account from one of the major carriers.
That seems rather odd to me. Maybe the website and or database needs an update.I was able to place a preorder for an air but not a 17.
Even if I want to finance through Apple? This gets asked every year. It has something to do with the carriers having a "connectivity discount" for the base iPhone model. If you select a carrier, you need to prove you're an existing customer in order to get the discount.
In your case (since you're not a T-Mobile customer), you'd need to select the "Any Carrier" option and pay full price up front.

I am with Visible (MVNO) and had to choose T Mobile to prep my bag for Friday.is anyone else running into this issue?
I’m trying to preorder an iPhone 17 with Apple Card Monthly payments and using T-Mobile but I’m not currently a T-Mobile customer. But when I select T-Mobile it asks me to confirm my account and I can’t get past it. Any ideas?
Correct. A carrier selection is required in order to do Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI). The regular models throw a wrench into this because they have a connectivity discount that requires you to confirm that you have a postpaid account with the selected carrier. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't let you choose a carrier without the discount. Well, actually they do...by selecting "Any Carrier", but then it doesn't qualify for ACMI. See chart above.Even if I want to finance through Apple?
The Air and 17 Pro don't have the "connectivity discount", so they aren't affected. This situation only applies to the regular model, which requires you to have a postpaid account with the selected carrier.I am with Visible (MVNO) and had to choose T Mobile to prep my bag for Friday.
No account verification needed after choosing TMO.
Apple Card payments for me !

Thanks. This is where I was confused. I am using US Mobile so looks like I’ll have to pay full price.Correct. A carrier selection is required in order to do Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI). Supposedly, someone was able to get a full price purchase changed to monthly installments afterwards in the past. I suppose you could try that. If it doesn't work, then return it.

You could setup a new postpaid TMO account then order on Friday.Thanks. This is where I was confused. I am using US Mobile so looks like I’ll have to pay full price.
Yeah I think I may just buy it outright and sell the old phones then. You could setup a new postpaid TMO account then order on Friday.
When it arrives, register to US Mobile, then cancel your TMO account ?
