preorder? move my att # to verizon & create family plan with wife?

My wife and I are planning to get iphone 5's. I will switch from ATT and she will stay on Verizon. We would then like to change her account to a family plan - or create a new family plan.

Do we just preorder Verizon phones tomorrow from apple, and then sort everything out with Verizon when we get the phones?

i have nearly the exact same question except my wife is not eligible for an upgrade. I'm going to switch from AT&T to Verizon. I'm assuming we're better off with a family plan but I'm somewhat concerned about pre-order day craziness and making sure I get a new phone with a new carrier as my 4 is on its last legs. Can I add a line to the existing Verizon account on pre-order day?

Making family plans is easier to do if you go to the store and pre-order than trying to do it online. Learned from experience.

Yes, they'll be able to merged accounts, change to family plan, etc. after the fact. They do it all the time.
