I believe the preorder for the 4S was 3am EST (12am pst). Will it be the same for the iPhone 5? Has a time been released at all?

All I can find is a date, Apple usually uses PST so 3AM EST is my guess for now. Setting the alarm...

i was just going to make this same thread. i remember when i preordered the iphone 4 @verizon it was 3am also(or maybe my memory is bad). i am usually up pretty late so that would definitely work for me

I'm up at 4am every day, 1 hour early won't kill me but the wife might adding $399 to the credit card lol
Old iPhone's already on eBay with iOS 6 to make up the difference :D

9to5Mac says Sprint starts at 12:01 PST (3 AM EST) so I imagine it's the same everywhere.

Sweet!!!!!!!!! Thats usually the time I head to bed but I can sacrifice and stay up a few minutes late.
"A few minutes late"... famous last words. The preorder website is likely to be swamped, and it might go down. You might spend hours waiting for it to load.

Just a warning, that happened to me last year.

Yes, it's 12:01am PDT on Friday. Sprint and Verizon (and presumably AT&T) are launching pre-sales on their respective websites at that time, as well.

Apples website was flooded but I got on and ordered from Verizon within 5 minutes.
