Preordered only 1 iPhone for now on Family Plan

I have a family plan and my wife wanted a white iPhone and I wanted a black iPhone, so because there is no white iPhone for now, I only preordered 1 black iPhone and my wife will wait till the white iPhone comes out. So my question is what will happen to our family plan when come launch day, there is still no white iPhone and I get the new iPhone and activate it, will I retain my family plan as 1 new iPhone for me and the old iPhone for my wife?

I feel so frustrated about this and I'm mad at Apple for not making the white iPhone available in the first place and it's now making things complicated!

from what i have gathered from CSR's from both apple and AT&T, they have said that it will be perfectly fine they will just have different start and end dates....

personally im making my husband wait for his black iphone because i want to get the white one and dont want to mess up our constract (or have a whim of that being able to happen )
