Preordering Questions

So I want to preorder the new iPhone tomorrow right away. I am on AT&T and there is no Apple store within two hours of my college town. (Iowa City needs one).

I was wondering, can I order it through Apple? Or should I order through AT&T? I wasn't sure how activations would work if I got it through Apple.

Yes you can order online via apple.

yes and yes. You could order through apple.com or in your case att.com

The phone will come ready and you will just have to activate it.

Yeah, as long as you are in the initial group of preorders it will be at your door on the 21st....last year some people got it a day early ordering through ATT. You can call ATT to activate the phone, or i think you can do it via itunes. The phone comes with activation instructions.

You don't even need to connect to iTunes or take it to AT&T.
Everything works just great as soon as you get it out of the box!
It's like installing a new computer. But easier =P

I did have one problem with all the phones though, they didn't have 3G working right away, but I think that's only because we started as new lines.

I did this with my whole family's phones. =)
