Hi everyone,

I'm from Australia and am travelling to the US for around 2 weeks. I want you guys to give me some advice on what prepaid sim to buy.

Basically I need a reasonable data package so I can use skype on the way. Couldn't care less about the minutes and texts.

Thanks in advance.

Your options are AT&T and T-Mobile, but on T-Mo you are limited to EDGE data.

I'm not sure he can use AT&T or TMobile on prepaid.

OP, you can get an AT&T sim card off eBay and then buy airtime cards but I believe that is only voice and text, no data. But the US is covered with free WiFi at McDonald's, Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, Apple Stores etc. so you should be covered almost anywhere you go. This of course is mostly valid for major cities only. Also, all malls now pretty much have free WiFi.

Yeah, the US sucks when it comes to prepaid plans.
