Prepare MBP for Genius appointment.

Early 2015 13" MBP. I have to take it in for repair. Left speaker not working.

In preparation of visit to Genius Bar, I am thinking of cloning the HD to external drive and then erasing MBP hard drive to protect personal data.

Would this be OK? Just wondering if Apple might require password access for some reason.
