Prepare upgrader from SL to Lion with recovery - best practice?

Hi guys!

I am still on SL with my summer 2009 MBP, but I am really tempted to upgrade.

There are just a few things I want to know first:

With the SL disc - I could just boot of the SL disc to do recovery etc - I am using Time Machine with an older 500GB disk from my PC days on USB.

If Lion should fail or I should desire to upgrade the HD to SSD - how will I recover from Time Machine with not OS boot disc????

I understand that from the Apple store you can buy Lion on a USB stick - will this be the solution???

It sounds like you are downloading Lion from the app store? Just follow this to make your own Lion USB key if you ever need to reinstall to a blank drive.

Well, have not decided yet how to get catch my Lion :-D
