Hi guys.

It is time to upgrade the base station and move on to a new one. :)

I understand that you can do both a "soft" and "hard" reset.

Which on is most recommended to get rid of passwords etc and what will the unit default to??

I checked the base station and the box it came with - does not seem to have a default factory password etc :-(

(typical access points have it on the unit)

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kim

1. go to google.com

2. type in "reset airport extreme"

3. click the 1st link titled - Resetting an AirPort base station FAQ - Apple Support

4. read the list and find that "factory default reset" is what you want since it clears everything but the hard drive which doesn't matter since you don't have a time capsule.

5. scroll down the page to find the instructions.
