preparing iphone for selling

I may be selling my phone soon, and was wondering what was the easiest way to restore the phone to a new state...

should i do a general restore?
can i just enter the wrong passcode several times?

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

It'll take from 1 - 2 hrs and will write zeroes over all the storage memory.
