Hello,

I want to install Catalina on a new SSD and for that I formatted the SSD to APFS but now the drive itself (sub-level) is greyed out and when i try to activate it, i get an error message.

Please help ... :-/

edit: ok now I unplugged it and now somehow I have 3 levels? What is that "Container disk5" thing

edit 2: does that look correct now? Should i use "APFS secure" instead?

Did you mean APFS Encrypted or APFS Sensitive? If meant APFS Sensitive, just use plain APFS. If you meant APFS Encrypted, use that if you want to use FileVault to encrypt the drive.
