I searched but wasnt really able to find this information.

Do I need a retail Snow Leopard Disk or could I use the recovery disk that I received from Apple to load SL on my new SSD. Here is the instruction that I read from other thread.

1. Load the disk in the drive. (Retail Disk or Recovery Disk ?).
2. Turn the Machine Off
3. Install the new SSD.
4. Turn the machine on while holding the C button.
5. Proceed with installation.
6. Done.

Is that about right ?

I would advise you update the firmware (if any updates exist) before you install OS X. Because a firmware update also does a secure wipe which on a SSD takes less than a minute.

so here comes a next noob question to SSD. How would I update the firmware prior to installing the SSD ?
