Pressing around home button as if pressing home button

I have an iPad2 that has a replacement digitizer.

When I press the area around the home button on either side it is as if I pressed the home button.
In other words it seems overly sensitive.

I did not own the ipad with the original digitizer so I don't know if this is normal behavior or if it is a problem with the digitizer or possibly a problem with the home button assembly.

Not normal! Was it an Apple repair? If Apple did the repair take it back. If not you are probable out of luck.
