HDR'ing into 16-bit tiffs seems to help remedy banding that'll show up in 8-bit tiffs. Glad I realized that. Are there any further ways to minimize banding? I'm still getting an ever-so-slight amount even despite the 16-bit-tiffery.

Also, when we say "bits" in digital photography, what relation does this have, if any, to when we say "64 bit OS" or "128 bit OS?" Sorry for my n00bish questions on that one.

Additionally I was wondering why a single 8 bit TIFF file takes up so much more megabytes than a RAW file?

Thanks ladies and germs. :)
