Pressing the spacebar on the Magic Keyboard while on Youtube, doesn't put spacing between words in search.

Instead, it just pauses/unpauses the video that is currently playing (if there is a video open).

It just started happening randomly on Youtube, and I don't know why. And only while using Safari, and ONLY on Youtube. The spacebar works fine on any other browser, or in Safari for anything other than Youtube.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, I have the same issues as well. I just updated my mac to the latest Big Sur 11.2.3 and the space bar won't work on Youtube with Safari browser. Yesterday it work fine though but it was the previous version of the Big Sur 11.2.2. Mine is the 2017 Macbook Pro 13 Touchbar.

same problem here. it works in Chrome just not Safari. I just updated to 11.2.3

Guys, if you still prefer using safari, this is a way to temporarily fix it: try option + space instead of space.

Option + space works because it's not the same as space by itself. Specifically, it's what's called a non-breaking space:

Well, that's weird.

It just resolved itself for me too.

Well, just a weird glitch in the Apple Matrix, I guess.

Same here, was bugging me all day yesterday after upgrading to 11.2.3, but now seems to be resolved.
