So I pulled my iPhone out of the drawer to try and see what's wrong with it and I unlock it and the screen is totally black. The backlight comes on but that's it and I took a screenshot to try and press some things on the screen but something really odd shows up when I take a screenshot. Not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. Thanks.

Try connecting it to iTunes, put it into DFU mode and do a restore. I have never, ever seen square icons like that on iOS. Plus, the screenshot is in landscape mode. Even weirder.
