I was postponing a 10.15.6 update for a few several days. I had too much research and works in progress open that I didn't want to risk losing. I came home from work today and found my laptop shut down. I booted it up and it told me that the system had updated itself. Everything I was doing was lost.
How do I prevent the computer from updating itself without my consent? I also don't want the update notifications constantly harassing me. Everything in the "Software Update" preferences is unchecked.
