Hi all,

I'm looking for a solution here.
I'm restoring 10 iphones, ipads etc at the same time with an USB hub.

The problem I'm facing is, the iMac's and/or mac Mini's are trying to charge the iphones, and I'm facing warnings like
"iPhone Not Charging
Connect to a power adapter or a USB port on this mac to charge."

The phone's are at least 20% charged and must only be restored.

Therefor, the OSX shouldnt worry about wanting to charge these things.

Is there any way we can turn off the charging, by adjusting some USB kext file ?

Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend going into kext files. You'll definitely be causing more problems then its worth. I don't understand the problem with letting the phones charge, and/o seeing that error message about not charging.

Hi maflynn,

its the part that the imac's and mac mini's can't charge AND restore 10 devices at the same time.

While the restore process, 2 out of 10 are failed because it stopped restoring and wanting to charge.

I must say we use 4A USB hubs. So we come short for providing full power on 10 devices.

Its worth to try and test it out. As long keyboard and mouse works, and the USB hub is read/write and not charge.

If it's possible at all.
