I have a Mac Mini hooked up via HDMI to a receiver as a HTPC, and every time I turn the receiver off it thinks that the monitor has been completely disconnected. This leads to an annoying problem - every time I turn the receiver back on, the Mac starts out at 1024x768 and has to switch to 1920x1080, and it does this extremely slowly with a lot of blue and black screens (not to mention it messes with the resolution of XBMC which is always running). Is there any way to tell the Mac to just cool it and leave the display set to 1080p, whether there is a monitor connected to it or not? Maybe turn off automatic display detecting?
