When using Picture-in-Picture, and you stop playing a video in Safari, then return to search results or previous page, there is no pop-up playing.

However, when i try the same thing in Firefox, it ALWAYS appears... I tried about:config and disabled any autoplay. settings, and even turned off the option to "Enable picture-in-picture video controls" just to see, but to no solution..

Its annoying sometimes when your browsing and checking videos, as I'd noticed the auto play on You tube player does not prevent it initial--playback (just going to page), only des once your on the page, so in this case it wouldn't work, but i think that' s the key.. If i can prevent youtbe videos from auto playing initially, then PIP will also not work..

Does Firefox not have a setting ?
