Couldn't find the answer with google, hope there is a solution!

Using a 2nd screen for work - my MBP screen generally has nothing of use on it (so basically shows desktop), is there a way of putting the screen to 'sleep' or with screensaver while using it to prevent screen burn?

I have heard that is not great, the keyboard is used to get rid of heat.
The airflow is all from the sides. Only the thermal mass of the enclosure (the aluminum unibody) would aid in heat dissipation.

Using my macbook in clamshell for years. Never had any negative effects. Now with my 16" M1 also working great and stays perfectly cool.

Only OLED screen you should worry for burn-in... All the LCD monitors I have owned run almost 15-20 hours per day. Never had an issue, MacBook Pro 2021 is not an OLED display. There are a lot more other things out there to worry about than this hardware.
