I know in iTunes when you sync, and/or install app from iTunes, iTunes must first sync your iOS device to Mac, then transfers begin..

You can prevent this from automaically syncing, but it only works one way eg content on mac will not sync to iOS, but it will still backup before transfers to iOS begins..

So, is there a way not to sync Mac, and transfer to iOS only ?

I do not want to backup 9.90 gigs on my 128Gig iOS device, just to transfer some pdf files. Plus i already have a backup.. No need to do this again.
