Driving me crazy: I have turned off all auto-correct options in the ‘Text’ tab of the Keyboard system preferences. In Preview, when I have typing focus in a specific text field, I can turn off “check spelling while typing”. But when I exit that text field and open a new one and start typing, the option is checked again and I get the stupid red lines! If I try going to the option when I am *not* in a text field, it is greyed out and unclickable. How do I turn off auto-checking spelling permanently, forever?

Actually I just noticed the problem is more widespread (it's day 2 on a new machine with the new OS): when I typed "unclickable" in my Firefox browser window in the previous paragraph I also got the red line. I don't see any options in Firefox to enable or disable spell checking so presumably that's coming from the OS and not specific to Preview--but where?

Thank you for any help.
