Recently I scanned a bunch of old photographs that I wanted to have digital copies of so I could throw them away. To save time, I scanned 3 at a time and planned to crop them later. And that was a giant mistake, apparently.
Any time I try to crop a selection, the application shuts down and a box pops up that says "Preview quit unexpectedly" and prompts me to send a report to Apple. It does this over and over, never working at all. I also tried to instead use copy and paste with the selection to get it done, it also crashes when I do that. There's never a problem with opening and viewing photos, only when I try to edit them.
I realize that I can also do this in iPhoto, but it takes a lot longer since there is no "Save as" option to create a new file with the cropped portion while keeping the old intact.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Or if not, do you know of another free and SIMPLE (seriously, all I need to do is crop, nothing fancy) Mac application that I can use to get this done quickly? Thank you for your help.
