Preview - Image Correction Botton not highlighted

Hello,
I am working on some images using Preview, but the "Image Correction" button is not highlighted so i can't use it. could you please tell me what I need to do to make it work?

I am not sure which button you are asking about.
More information including the Operating system ie Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard etc might help.

sorry, I am not sure about the correct terminology.
I meant to say that "Image Correction" option itself, under Tools, is not highlighted.
