2017 iMac, 27-inch, Retina 5K (iMac18,3) 16 GB Ram, Fusion Drive, running Sierra.
I "upgraded" to High Sierra a few weeks ago and Preview was completely unusable. If it opened at all it would usually freeze within a few minutes. I have pdfpenpro installed as well, which I usually use only when manipulating a .pdf. I had problems with pdfpenpro as well in High Sierra, but not with the frequency of the problems with Preview. It was annoying enough that I used time machine to go back to Sierra.
I am still having problems working with Preview in Sierra, but not with the frequency I had during my week in High Sierra.
I have noticed that when I use the print to preview workflow that will frequently trigger a problem. That is, if I use the print driver instead of exporting to pdf, that seems to sometimes trigger the problem.
I am wondering if my problem might be with the print drivers and not necessarily with Preview/Pdfpenpro.
Any thoughts or advice are appreciated.
