Preview very slow printing PDF

I've got a client who complained about slow printing PDFs. The printer is a Xerox 6605. Printing a 28 page 771kb document was causing particular issues with speed. I timed printing the first 8 pages only from within Preview (10.14.5) and it took 5 minutes. I tried the same print job - first 8 pages again - from Adobe Reader and the job completed in less than a minute.

Has anyone else experienced these issues in Preview?

Yep - already on the latest drivers.

not sure what the issue is, but can't your client try adobe reader? if there's a significant difference, seems worth it...
