Previous iPhone pre order days

Hi Guys

Interested in upgrading my iPhone to the new 5 when its announced and im happy with specs etc, but question is, how have pre orders gone with previous models?

If i remember correctly the 4 and 4S was announced on the Wednesday, available to pre order on the Friday?

I'd be interested in hearing when you could pre-order from Verizon and when the phones arrived.

I think (Again, I don't exactly remember) that with the 3GS the preorder was later than the announced date.

With the later ones, I think preorder was right then.

I pre-ordered my 4S last October 7th just after 3 am EST. That is when it went live. The phone was delivered via UPS to my house around 3 pm Oct 14th, launch day.

Thanks for the info. It'd be great to hear from people that didn't stay up all night too, to see if they got it on launch day as well.
