I will be a first time buyer, and i had a simple question. I can buy the previous MBP 15 inch for $ 1600 and have a matte screen vs the new MBP for close to $2000.

Is that a wise investment( they look compareable, aside for a speed bump and track pad), and most of all does the previous model still get very very hot? Does the new MBP get just as hot and wash out the differences between the two. If so i would like to buy the previous model on sale. I am just a lite user , so it will due. If the macbook was 15 inch i would jump all over it.

Previous Gen: cheaper, classic, matte option, classic keyboard and trackpad, prone to GPU failure
Current Gen: teething problems (look around the forum), expensive

Skyrider has some great points, and there are also over 6 threads on this topic. Give the forum a good search, and read responses within those too.

Happy hunting!
