Price Drop? Ram for G5 2.7?

anybody got any info about the G5 memories? got any ideas when they are going to drop the price?

memory prices ONLY go down significantly when 2 things happen:

Supply goes way UP, AND
Demand goes way DOWN

Given that the ram the G5 takes is in widespread use, with steady supply & consistent demand, don't hold your breath for any substantial price decreases any time soon

$77? the question is: is it a crap ram? G5 is a picky bitch, she loves expensive gears. $130 seens big and sexy, sometime size does matter, specially for G5! I think she would love to get laid with the $130.

most of the pc equivalent ram will work in a mac as long as it's from a known vendor like Corsair, Kingston or crucial.

Hopefully CanadaRAM will be around shortly to give you a more detailed response, but you need to make sure the RAM you purchase is guaranteed to work with your PowerMac G5. Corsair and Kingston memory has been used by members of this forum with mixed results. You never know, and New Egg charges a hefty restocking fee for returns.

I personally like OWC (http://www.macsales.com).

The cost of DDR for the PowerMac tends to vary. I paid $220 for my first 2GBs and three weeks later paid $185.
