Hi,

My friend is selling her 2009 MacBook which is in good working order.

I am interested in buying it, but I have no idea how much would be a reasonable price to offer/pay.

Please could you advise.

Thanks in advance

Check for selling prices on recently ended eBay transactions for that model to get an idea what they are going for.

Thanks for the advice! I have had a look, and the prices vary from between £180 - £250. Would £200 be a good offer do you think? Cheers

If that is the range on eBay, then yes I would say so. Figure if your friend sold it on eBay they would have about 10% in fees deducted from that selling price, so your offer seems fair to me.

It does make a difference which 2009 MacBook.
There are three different models, Early 2009, Mid 2009, and Late 2009
The Late 2009 is significantly different, with a different case.
It could be worth a little more (maybe the high end of the range in your last post.)
But, 200 quid might be a fair value.

Of course, your friend is the one who decides if your offer is fair :D
