It was for the phone + 1 year of unlimited data. So, at least the bidder was not an order of magnitude off! And the host is right, this clip will make the rounds on Apple and carrier's marketing department email lists.

That's bs.
So you gotta guess how much a phone on a random MVNO's carrier will cost under contract and also include a full years worth of service with who knows what options or other variables are included in that price.
Since when does price is right is bundling up products and yearly services together for a retail price?

I still don't see how they get $7500... It's a fair assumption that, any services, are only for that single line.

I heard this on news radio this morning. The radio guy then said that the retail price was actually around $2,000.

I think they just got caught up in the excitement. The bloke just panicked and went with the first bid

I've seen people bid something like $200, or whatever the advertised price of the phone is subsidized. Don't include the cost of the service either.

You know that the minimum cost in this case would be $650. For the phone. Then the service has to be added.

I've also seen prices for a 1 year contract, but 450 minutes, etc. For ATT, you would be getting a 2 year contract, so how much more/month would a 1 year plan be?

The iPads are easy. A 16gb iPad 2, wi-fi, with smart cover. I can get that to the dollar.

Anyone who didn't watch the video, the final price is exactly $1969 for an iphone 6 with 1 year service 4gb data service, unlimted talk and text.

So $2000 is very very close.

My bad. I thought it was for the phone only. That's what I get for listening to incomplete news reporting.

My mother saw this (of course) and told me about it. Then she told me that the people on the local news were commenting about it. $7500? What was that person thinking?
