Ok, so I just recently thought about this and am kind of embarrassed that it did not come to me sooner. Does anyone expect the price of SL to drop once Lion hits the shelves? They can't seriously charge the same price that they did before Lion came out can they?

Maybe they'll offer a "bundle" that gets you a SL DVD along with Lion. I'd rather not pay $60 to go from Leopard to Lion but for now that seems to be the only upgrade path for those who chose to skip SL.
