Hi all,

Once Apple releases new models, what kind of price reduction is typical on older models? More specifically, if Apple were to release new macbooks today, what do you expect current models to sell for on eBay, craigslist, ... next week? What happened to Core Duos when Core 2 Duos came out? Thanks

To some extent the price drop depends on how significant an upgrade it is. Macs also tend to hold their value pretty well, so I wouldn't expect the prices to drop all that much.

Easily $50-$100 less, depending on what was under the hood. They may come down in price but if you're considering upgrading the Leopard or iLife07, it may be more worthwhile and cost-effective to buy a new machine with those pre-loaded. Just a thought.
