When Santa Rosa comes out, is the price of the MacBooks likely to increase?

Thanks.

When Santa Rosa comes out is the sky going to fall? - NO

Moore's law states that you will get better technology or the same technology will get cheaper.

I don't think it would because of the processor, however if there were many other hardware updates ie GPU, Blu Ray etc. then you may see a small increase in some of the higher end stuff..

Implies.

Moore's 'Law' states that the number of transistors on an integrated circuit made at the lowest cost, will double every 2 years (later revised to 18 months)

"The complexity for minimum component costs has increased at a rate of roughly a factor of two per year"

Whether this can be extrapolated to a doubling in RW performance, or getting 'better' technology, is left up to your imagination. For example, we now get many many more lines of Windows code per dollar than we did in 1998. ;)

Wirth's law "Software gets slower faster than hardware gets faster" is important to remember here. Or paraphrased: "Intel giveth, and Microsoft taketh away"

I forgot where I was just now.

Sorry it was late and these type threads have been wearing at me.

*applauds*
Nice to see someone actually getting it right. Thank you!
